Our Home: All About Poole

Safe and Dry’s Self Storage facility is located in the sunny coastal town of Poole, Dorset, home to nearly 150,000 people, and is widely known for having some of the most scenic and sandy beaches in the U.K. We love living here, and whether you’re a tourist, new resident or local looking for new attractions around your home, here are some of Poole’s highlights.

There is a never-ending list of outdoor activities in and around Poole: from long beach walks along the sandy dunes of Sandbanks Beach to an abundance of water sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing out of Poole Harbour, there is something for every outdoor fanatic. If you are after a more leisurely attraction, strolling along the historic quayside, or stopping for a lunch break in the Old Town where pirates and sea captains once inhabited, will give you an insight into Poole’s fascinating history.

There are numerous year-round festivals to visit such as Sandfest, Poole Thai Festival, The Family Folk Festival, and The Festival of Running. Sandbanks Beach gives the perfect view for the yearly Bournemouth Air Festival, which sees four days of aircraft displays.

If the British weather alters your outdoor plans, Poole has plenty of other indoor attractions to choose from. The Lighthouse is the U.K.’s largest regional arts centre, and provides year-round entertainment including music, drama, comedy, film, theatre and workshops. Popular with both residents and tourists, Tower Park is an entertainment venue three miles out of Poole, and is perfect for any rainy day with a 16-screen cinema, bowling, an indoor waterpark, a soft play and a variety of restaurants.

Whether you love the fresh air, immersing yourself in rich history, or are a regular theatre-goer, there is something for everyone in Poole, and at Safe and Dry, we are proud to call it home!
